Yes, Chelo's Brick & Stone builds indoor masonry fireplaces, from the firebox and hearth up through the chimney and out the roof. We build them the traditional way: a firebrick firebox, a properly sized flue liner, and a masonry chimney tied into the structure, not a prefab metal insert dressed up with veneer.
A real masonry fireplace is built in layers that each do a job. The firebox is lined with firebrick that can handle direct flame without cracking, the hearth in front is masonry too so sparks and embers land on something that won't burn, and a flue liner sized to the firebox carries smoke up cleanly so the fireplace draws instead of smoking into the room.
Above the roofline, that same chimney is exposed to Southwest Virginia's full freeze-thaw cycle, so the crown, cap, and flashing where it meets the roof all matter as much as the firebox does. A poorly built crown or missing cap lets water into the chimney, and that's usually where trouble starts even on fireplaces that draw fine inside the house.
We build the whole system as one job: footing, firebox, damper, smoke chamber, and chimney, so every part is sized to work with the others.
